Wakaf Tunai Air Yayasan is a specialized cash endowment program created under YWM. developed through collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Water Transformation (PETRA). This innovative initiative channels waqf contributions to support critical water service projects. The program was officially approved by the YWM Board of Trustees on October 20, 2020.
Through this specialized program, donors can contribute to essential water infrastructure projects that serve communities across Malaysia. This endowment model ensures sustainable funding for water services while providing donors with meaningful spiritual rewards.
Program Objectives of Wakaf Tunai Air Yayasan
This program aims to collect endowment funds for small-scale water service projects. Priority projects valued under RM50,000 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM75,000 in Sabah and Sarawak include:
• Water pumping systems from wells
• Spare parts and one-off maintenance services
• Emergency operations and rural water supply recovery assistance
• Alternative water sources with low maintenance costs and safe usage
How to Contribute to Wakaf Tunai Air Yayasan
The community can participate in this initiative through several convenient methods. Donors can contribute cash endowments through the Malaysia Cash Waqf System. When selecting the “Type of Waqf,” choose “Special/Project Waqf (WK)” and select “Water Services Waqf” (Wakaf Air). No minimum contribution amount is specified.
Additionally, individuals can contribute directly via bank transfer to support this program through RHB Islamic Bank using account number 2124-57600-01304. Importantly, every waqf contribution to YWM qualifies for income tax deduction under Section 44(11C) of the Income Tax Act 1967.
